School House
Monday 20. of February 2012

The Russells are a trio — Jamie, Rosy and Harry — plus Pidge, a mouldering Border Terrier. Jamie teaches History, plays the bagpipes and flute and enjoys the great outdoors.
Jamie has come to schoolmastering via the Army and business, and having been a boarder himself brings that experience to bear in his role as Housemaster. His aim is simple: to create an environment where the boys can flourish. To that end, in conjunction with the staff and the boys, he strives to create a happy, hard-working and cultured community that involves itself in all aspects of College life.
First Prize for the Christmas Cake Competition
Monday 20. of February 2012

The School House Guide on how to decorate a prize winning Christmas cake:
Ingredients:
1 Christmas cake flat iced (Harrisons do a very, very nice one)
Fondant icing in white, red and green
Utensils:
Cake decorating felt tips (in House colours of course)
Star, tree and snowflake shaped cutters
1 Father Christmas
Prepare the table next to the Christmas tree on a Sunday morning.
Allow about 90 mins for everyone to have fun with lots of giggling (and Rosy nibbling endless little bits of icing)
Then on to the baking:
Kim Tutcher i/c operation Christmas Cake
Rupert Harris and Marcus Emmerson to write every boy's name (+ Rosy, Harry, Mr Russell and Pidge) on the side of the cake
Cezar Rugasira (with a little help from Ed Bridge), to design and draw the SH crest in the centre
Rosy Russell to roll out the green icing and cut out stars and trees
Harry Russell to roll out the red icing and cut out stars and trees
Jamie Russell to roll out the white icing and cut out the snowflakes
Will Raby Smith to stick all shapes onto cake
Once decorated leave for 24 hours before admiring, spotting your name, cutting and eating.
Delicious!
