House No.6
Thursday 09. of February 2012

Vanessa Young has been teaching Design and Technology at Malvern College since 2006. She studied textiles at Nottingham Trent University and after graduating was invited to join the Marks and Spencer Graduate Training Programme. She spent her early career as a product developer for M&S, gaining valuable knowledge and experience of the business world to use in her teaching. She is married to Rob and they have three boys, Bob, Max and James. They are a very active family and she enjoys running - a firm believer in the benefits of exercise. She also enjoys all things creative: making clothes, knitting and making cakes.
Vanessa feels that the girls have a happy, welcoming home at No.6 where they can feel secure and loved. They have a strong sense of House spirit and are encouraged to take part and do their best in activities that they will be good at and in challenges that are outside their comfort zone.
Girls' Football Fantastic Four
Thursday 09. of February 2012

Four of our girls have been invited to join the South-West of England Independent Schools Under 18 Football squad.
After performing very well in trials held in January, Gabi Bellairs-Lombard (EH), Sarah Laouiti (No.6) and Olivia Barnes (No.3) have been selected to play for the South-West of England Independent Schools U18 Football team. They will take part in an inter-regional tournament, against the three other regions, at Marlborough, on 18th March.
In addition, Josephine Steiskal (No.6), although only in the Remove, has been invited to attend the South-West of England training sessions in preparation for next season, as she is currently too young to play at Under 18 level. A national independent schools squad will be formed next season to participate in international fixtures.
